CRYSTAL A. ZARPAS
Crystal A. Zarpas has been an attorney in Los Angeles, CA since 1982. Her practice focuses on the representation of business clients in connection with corporate and commercial business transactions, intellectual property matters, and real estate transactions. Ms. Zarpas' diverse client base includes legal entities and entrepreneurs within numerous industries, including the technology, entertainment, food and beverage, manufacturing, cosmetics, shoe, apparel, and fashion industries, with a particular emphasis on business start-ups. In addition, as an integral part of Ms. Zarpas' practice in the apparel and fashion industries, her client base includes manufacturers, designers, showrooms, textile companies and retailers.
Ms. Zarpas' corporate and business transactional experience includes
representing clients in connection with entity formation, general corporate and commercial business transactions; serving as General Counsel to numerous businesses; drafting, analyzing and negotiating various business agreements; and, commercial loan and factoring transactions.
Ms. Zarpas' intellectual property practice includes assisting clients in strategic domestic and international brand development; devising, structuring and implementing domestic and international brand protection and policing programs, including anti-piracy, anti-counterfeiting and anti-cybersquatting strategies; and, negotiating and drafting licensing and distribution transactions for various industries.
Ms. Zarpas’ real estate practice includes representing clients in commercial and residential real estate transactions, including residential and commercial purchase/sale transactions, and commercial and industrial leasing transactions. Ms. Zarpas has also served as legal counsel to real estate brokers, and represented clients in connection with title matters, including lot line adjustments.
Having served as a past President of both the Los Angeles based Textile Professionals Club, and City of Hope Apparel Industries Group, Ms. Zarpas is well-known in many circles of the apparel and fashion industries. She has acted as the West Coast Consultant to the New York based publication, "The Fashion Mannuscript." Ms. Zarpas has been a regular guest lecturer on business law and intellectual property related legal issues at various venues, including the University of Southern California (USC), California State University at Northridge (CSUN), Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDIM), Otis School of Fashion Design, and seminars and events sponsored by the California Fashion Association. Additionally, Ms. Zarpas has participated in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Counterfeiting and Piracy Awareness Conference, and has been consulted by various publications, including the California Apparel News, the Los Angeles Times, the San Fernando Business Journal and LA Weekly, in connection with various business law and intellectual property issues.
